Harper Lee's recently discovered novel 'Go Set a Watchman' has gone on sale, with fans in London queuing up outside bookshops which opened at midnight to cope with demand. The book gives a very different portrayal of her hero from her first novel 'To Kill and Mockingbird'. As we can hear from Harper Lee's agent, Andrew Nurnberg, and Actor Robert Sean Leonard, currently playing Atticus Finch on the London stage, it has divided opinion.

у меня уже давно раздвоение любви к Роберту. Мне он очень нравится в период Оркадии. Такой молодой, красивый, и с этой его обманчивой невинность, он выглядит очень сексуальным. Сегодняшний Роберт это скорее такой большой плюшевый пес, которого хочется затискать. И я не знаю какого из них я люблю больше

The limited engagement of Prodigal Son will begin previews Tuesday, January 19, 2016 for a Tuesday, February 9, 2016 opening night at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street).
Prodigal Son is a passionate, explosive portrait of a young man on the verge of salvation or destruction, written and directed by John Patrick Shanley (of Tony, Academy Award, and Pulitzer Prize fame). A 17-year-old boy (Timothée Chalamet) from The Bronx finds himself suddenly in a private school in New Hampshire. He’s violent, gifted, alienated, on fire with a ferocious loneliness. Two faculty members (Tony Award winnerRobert Sean Leonard andChris McGarry) wrestle with the dilemma: Is the kid a star or a disaster?
The world premiere of Prodigal Son marks another exciting step forward in the collaboration between Manhattan Theatre Club and this visceral New York playwright (Doubt, Outside Mullingar).

Leonard (“House”), who won a 2001 Tony for his turn in “The Invention of Love,” joins a cast that also includes Timothee Chalamet, the young actor who’s appeared in “Interstellar” and “Homeland,” and Chris McGarry. Chalamet plays a gifted but troubled 17-year-old from the Bronx who’s transplanted to a fancy East Coast private school, while Leonard and McGarry star as the faculty members grappling with whether he’s an asset to the school or a impending catastrophe.
Annika Boras and David Potters also appear in the show at MTC, which has premiered a string of Shanley plays over the years including the recent “Outside Mullingar” and the Tony and Pulitzer winning “Doubt.”
“Prodigal Son” is part of a 2015-16 season at MTC that also includes Broadway titles “Fool for Love” with Sam Rockwell and Nina Arianda, “Our Mother’s Brief Affair” with Linda Lavin and “The Father” led by Frank Langella. Off Broadway outings will include David Lindsay-Abaire’s “Ripcord,” Nick Payne’s “Incognito” and Nick Jones’ “Important Hats of the 20th Century.”
“Prodigal Son” begins previews Jan. 19 prior to a Feb. 9 opening at MTC’s Off Broadway space at New York City Center Stage I.

Two faculty members subsequently struggle to decide whether the boy is a star or a disaster.

Эпизод вышел сегодня. Понравился мне, кстати, куда больше, чем прошлосезонный эпизод с РШЛ. Неоднозначная ситуация и трагическая случайность с ужасными последствиями вызвали сочувствие ко всем участникам процесса (кроме злого прокурора РШЛа ). А вообще история напомнила мне случай, произошедший у нас в Минске, только закончился он противоположно А внезапная смерть Эйвери от жировой эмболии напонила о Ханне РШЛ хорош! Сцены в суде сильные. Еще понравился момент, когда он ехидно прошелся по поводу того, что ему косточки перемывают за глаза Очень понравился парнишка-подсудимый (Дарий?) - просто отлично сыграл! Скачать эпизод можно ТУТ, а английские сабы - ТУТ.

Cheever likes to take the mickey out of affluent suburban life, and here has a sly dig for gossips and ill-wishers from over the hedgerows. Cheever’s many published works include The Wapshot Chronicle, The Wapshot Scandal and Falconer. Story collections include The Enormous Radio, The World of Apples, and The Stories of John Cheever. The reader is the late Anne Meara, whose long career included her comedy work with her husband Jerry Stiller, roles on television programs such as Archie Bunker’s Place, and work on and off Broadway.
