Songs From The West Coast Customer Reviews
Average Rating: |
Elton back to his best Back to his 1970s sound with a 21th Century groove added in. Top stuff. Buy it today! By a reviewer (Portsmouth UK)
His Best in Years I loved the music. Many double meanings and rather complex in thought. By a reviewer (Wyalusing,PA)
Elton rocks on! I enjoyed every song on this CD! His vioce sounded young, the lyrics are great, and the music is great. I love the piano playing in every song! I think this is one of his best albums. By a reviewer (Sterling Heights, MI, USA)
Quite nostalgic One element throughout many of Eltons records of the early seventies was a personal feel of Elton singing these songs with you in the room. After those masterpieces, Elton went his own way and did his own thing, thus leaving, in general, his audience behind him in the dust. Now, he did share with us some of his journeys, whether dark or light or greyish, but he kept to himself. He became a superstar and he didnt change his approach. This album returns him to the original, personal appeal that was on such records as "Elton John" and "Captan Fantastic". It is refreshing to hear his voice, aged but still good, singing with the panache and effect he used to always use. The first two songs are absolutely stellar, and remind me of Elton. This is just a good album, and definitely worth the buy. By Galen (Anchorage, AK, USA)
